Lake District Guided Walks and Walking Tours

Below are some of the designed routes for walking tours I offer. Each one is a fully guided walk, meaning I’ll be guiding you personally on the whole walk. The walks vary in difficulty and terrain, with some containing more uphill than others. Generally they are all across lower level scenery and are very accessible for most adults with even a reasonable level of walking fitness and agility. All the walks are available to book for a private guided experience, and some are available to join as a group walk.

What’s Included on the walks?

• Be shown around beautiful Lake District scenery with spectacular views

• Suitable for a wide range of abilities – walks at a leisurely pace including plenty of stops, and no mountains to climb

• No need to plan or navigate – all admin made easy: on booking receive detailed information on where to meet, parking costs and information on what to bring with you. Then simply follow me on the day

• No minimum numbers - I will always run the walk no matter how many people book, even if you are the only one

• Chat, have fun, socialise and share your experience meeting new people

• Learn about the area including how the landscape was formed, Lake District culture, history, plant and animal life and place names. Plus pick my brains on other things to see and do during your trip!

• Get pictures of you with amazing backdrops taken by me along the way and sent to you after the walk – no need to rely on selfies for those perfect memories and Instagram worthy shots

• Refreshment stops (with a view)

• Doesn’t take up your whole day – back for early / mid afternoon with plenty of time for further afternoon exploring and dinner plans

• Plus - part of your booking cost goes towards important Lake District charities – meaning you do your bit for the area you’re visiting all included in the price you pay

Langdale - Lake District Walking Tour

Langdale is a perfect example of what the Lake District has to offer walkers right in the heart of the national park. This guided walk explores the area around the bottom of the two valleys – Great Langdale and Little Langdale. Taking in rivers, 2 waterfalls, lakes, iconic bridges, farmland, woodland, historic secret caves and both valleys, this walk really does give a bit of everything! The beautiful and varied landscapes contrast in the two valleys with stunning views, peaceful paths, and awe inspiring landmarks.

Duration: 4-5 hours including coffee and lunch stops, taken at a leisurely pace with breaks when needed.

Eskdale - Lake District Walking Tour

Eskdale is a stunning valley in the Western part of the Lake District. This guided walk explores the hidden beauties of Eskdale including one of the most impressive waterfalls and most exquisite rivers in the Lake District, and some very special ancient oceanic woodland that makes you feel like you’re lost in a fairy land.

Duration: 3-4 hours including one stop, taken at a leisurely pace with breaks when needed.

Ullswater lakeshore walk - Lake District Walking Tour

Ullswater is one of my favourite parts of the Lake District, and often regarded as the prettiest lake. This walk explores the lake in a very special way! We take the steamboat across the lake, then walk back to where we started. Climbing a small fell with spectacular views of the lake, then following the shoreline through woodland along a stunning path back.

Duration: Boat ride 35 minutes. Walk 4-5 hours including one stop, taken at a leisurely pace with breaks when needed.

Please note: This walk incurs an additional cost for the steamboat ride. Please enquire on booking for more details.

Grasmere and Loughrigg Fell - Lake District Walking Tour

This walk is a fantastic introduction to hill walking, as we take in one of the smaller fells, but with big views! From the village of Grasmere we go through woodland and up to the top of Loughrigg Fell, with stunning views over Grasmere, Langdale, Windermere and beyond. On the way back we explore a cave at an old quarry site, and hug the lake shore to head back to the village.

Duration: 4-5 hours including one stop, taken at a leisurely pace with breaks when needed.

Rannerdale Bluebells Walk

The Bluebells are one of my favourite times of year on the walking calendar, and there is nowhere more famous for them in the Lake District than at Rannerdale! Join me for this special, limited time walk in May, and let me guide you through a carpet of bluebells that has to be seen to be believed! This is easily accessible if you know where to head, and involves only a small uphill section. Option on the day to also take in a loop of Buttermere, one of Lakelands most beautiful lakes.

Duration: 3-5 hours, depending on the group and chosen route.
